Module 07 — Operational Security (OPSEC)
🧠 1. OPSEC Mindset
Operational security (OPSEC) is about controlling what others can infer from your behaviour over time. Tools matter, but habits are the real defence.
⚠️ 2. Common Failure Patterns
- Reusing the same email or phone number across unrelated roles.
- Logging into personal social media from a high-risk environment.
- Sharing screenshots or photos that reveal more than intended.
🛡️ 3. Shield Workflow
- Define which accounts and apps belong on Shield — and which do not.
- Keep system and apps updated on a regular schedule.
- Back up critical data in a secure, documented way.
🌒 & 👻 4. Shadow & Ghost Workflows
Think of a simple friction vs protection chart:
- Shield: low friction, moderate protection.
- Shadow: medium friction, higher protection.
- Ghost: high friction, highest practical protection.
Move “up” this chart only when the risk justifies it, and write down the rules for each so you can follow them consistently.
